Turing test for cats

In these days of AI programs that can tell the difference between a man and a woman, and chatbots inching ever closer to the Turing test, it should come as no surprise to discover that a software system has been detected that can tell the difference between cat and human typing patterns.

Use of computers by domestic pets is approaching crisis point, as I’m sure you’re all aware. I myself have been taught by my cat how to switch on the speech features in Windows XP, after going out of the room and coming back to find him sitting on my laptop engaged in conversation with it. Pawsense aims to take this particular bull by the horns, so to speak, and continually monitors the key-press patterns in order to detect characteristic feline patterns. It will even emit a noise that annoys cats (presumably the sound of a human typing uninterrupted?).

Thanks to Tom for pointing me to this invaluable piece of software.
