Drag Racing

Nope, not the fast car variety, this one’s straight out of Monty Python.

The Bristol Drag Race is a fund-raising activity organised by Bristol Cancer Help Centre, in which grown men and women who ought to know better race across an inflatable 300 metre obstacle course dressed in drag. My wife and daughter found a flyer for this worthy event at the local swimming pool, and mercilessly bullied gently persuaded me to take part!

In addition to raising funds locally, I’ve decided to embarrass myself in front of va much larger audience by publicising this over the internet. We are attempting to recreate the look of the 18th Century Ottoman sultana from the cover of ‘Ajax in Action’, complete with giant headgear, in which I’ll take part in the run on May 21.

Thanks to the power of the internet, readers of this blog can donate to the Bristol Cancer Centre’s activities through the Just Giving website. Please give generously to a ridiculous activity in aid of a worthy cause.

Now excuse me while I go write a serious, manly piece about working with closures in JavaScript.
